To the Core
Working with the wisdom our body holds
Some of my favourite work environments are with teams in high-level sport settings. From rugby tournaments and touch rugby for the 2024 Touch World Cup with the Switzerland national women's team to an ice hockey team in Lausanne, I keep learning and working with the the same passion as I started.

About To the Core
With a continuous curiousity I kept wondering why I saw such a big difference between what we have learned in theory and what we see in real life patients. I kept studying, learning and searching for answers to bridge this gap. I found a more holistic approach suiting, where we do not only look into the physical symptoms, but also take into account the lived experience of a person as a whole. To look into different layers at what is going on at the core. Not pretending to know everything, always curious and open to learn.
Our bodies hold wisdom. Together, we take a moment to listen.

About me
As a child I spend a lot of time outdoors after school, I was lucky to try out many different sports and it was a great way to get my energy out. I was generally curious and grew up in a small school in Ghent, Belgium, where we were allowed to follow our interests, learned to collaborate and listen deeply to one another.
During high school I entered a ladies rugby team and found my place in a fantastic group of women. Hooked from the first training, I kept playing for years, later switching to touch rugby after my first ACL reconstuction. One of my teammates in Ghent had started her physiotherapy studies and sparked my interested to follow in her footsteps.
During studies, I started doing physio work at local rugby tournaments and took the chance to assist in the national womens U18 team, with additional physio training in immediate care and concussions for healthcare professionals.
In my 1st master year I went to do an exchange internship in Portugal and received excellent guidance by the leading physiotherapists who taught me a framework I still use today. It was an extra cool challenge to learn basic Portuguese and I made some good friends there.
Really glad as I finally held my full degree, I started studying osteopathy next to work as I kept being curious about underlying causes of injuries. Osteopathy deepened my knowledge about manual interventions and introduced me to visceral and cranial therapy, which have become an important part of my practice.
2 years later, a travel adventure was calling and I set off towards New Zealand with my best friend. We visited different countries and spend quite some time with locals which is what I find the most enriching part.
Coming back just before lock-down, a friend who worked in Switzerland got in touch and a few months later I was learning German to started working in canton Solothurn. I joined an amazing team of touch rugby in Bern and got to learn Schweizerdeutsch from my teammates. After a second ACL injury I moved to my current location in Vevey closer to the mountains.
Once again my knee rehabilitation showed me the value of physio work as a patient. My physio friends assisted me in many ways, next to months of physical rehab, they also inspired me to find new challenges. As soon as I was allowed I got back in the swimming pool, started cycling again and slowly made my way back to running. I got back into trailrunning and did a triathlon as I was already doing all the disciplines. I mostly enjoy sports outdoors and I love trying out new challenges.
During my rehab, a friend introduced me to energy healing and I ended up learning reiki. It felt like finally finding a way to direct my gift of sensitivity.
I also started writing as a way of expressing myself and processing life events.
I have been preparing To the Core for a long time and am happy to now have created a space.
You can find me in Espace Le Lab in Vevey, a place designed by women for women, mothers, children and sporters. A warm, natural space where we can take a moment together.
I love the part where I can set my mind to work, as well as having an immediate practical implication of my work. I have leant and keep learning so much with my patients. I keep being humbled by their trust that is given.
You can have a look at my full training on linked in.
I share some of my writings on substack.
In May, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. The oncologist referred me for reeducation. I was seen by Ella, who was kind and gentle. Alongside exercises, Ella offered me reiki to support my physical and mental wellbeing. She helped to promote mental and emotional clarity, as well as my spiritual wellbeing. I feel light and in great shape. A big thank you to Ella Stallaerts.
